Have you ever had a day where it all seems to go wrong?
I am having a stressful week trying to get all the things done that I need to do. The task seems insurmountable. And it is stealing my joy. Then I read psalm 126. I am going to post it below. I am not talking about my day. Instead I am posting this psalm and asking you to think about it. Think about verse 3. Study it, contemplate it, and then think on all the things that God has done for you. By focusing on the good, you will stop allowing the bad to take up real estate in your mind, and instead you will be filled with joy.
When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “the Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.
